Nessie's Story - The Nebraska Medical Center

Nessie's Story - The Nebraska Medical Center Video Clips. Duration : 2.75 Mins.

After Nessie was in a car accident, X-rays revealed holes in her bones, a symptom of multiple myeloma, cancer of the bone marrow. She was referred to Dr. Julie Vose, a hematologist and oncologist at The Nebraska Medical Center. "Dr. Vose is known nationally for her work in lymphoma and multiple myeloma. I knew I was in the right place." Nessie elected to undergo a stem-cell transplant using her own stem cells to fight the cancer cells after a series of chemo therapies. Then, she participated in a clinical trial of a new medication to continue to keep her cancer in remission. Nessie and her husband live in Beaver Lake, Neb.
