Brian Druker (OHSU) Part 2: Imatinib Resistance and Other Diseases Targeted by Imatinib

Brian Druker (OHSU) Part 2: Imatinib Resistance and Other Diseases Targeted by Imatinib Video Clips. Duration : 25.22 Mins.

Imatinib (Gleevec) has become a paradigm for targeted cancer therapies. Although the majority of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) respond well to imatinib, a minority of patients have relapsed. This part of the lecture will cover what has been learned about mechanisms of relapse and how this information has been translated into new therapies for patients with imatinib resistance. Although imatinib is a relatively specific inhibitor of the ABL kinase, a couple of other kinases, KIT and the platelet derived growth factor receptor are also inhibited by imatinib. This use of this information to treat successfully treat other malignant diseases driven by these kinases will be reviewed. See more at www.ibioseminars.org

Symptoms of Lymphoma in Women

Symptoms of lymphoma in women are ordinarily the same as for men.

Lymphoma often develops quietly and with few symptoms so it may take a while before you may comprehend that there is something very much the matter.

What Is Leukemia

Following is a list of the typical symptoms of lymphoma in women and symptoms of lymphoma in men alike.

One thing to keep in mind is that these lymphoma symptoms can be symptoms of any of a large estimate of conditions that are ordinarily harmless.

For this reason, it's wise to consult with your physician if you touch any of them.

1. Enlargement of the Lymph Nodes

This is the most characteristic lymphoma indication of illness and can be the only indication of illness that one experiences.

It's very leading to note that a lot of dissimilar things can cause an enlargement of the lymph nodes and it does Not necessarily mean you have lymphoma!

Typically, the lymph nodes of the groin, armpit and neck will swell but cause no pain.

Humans have 500+ lymph nodes in the body which are basically "forts" of immunity.

When they swell, it is often indicative of the body initiating an immune response against some type of little invader.

You may observation these lumps in the procedure of your daily routine, such as when showering or applying creams, etc.

The symptoms outlined most often only indicate a potential lymphoma if they are discovered in increasing to swollen lymph nodes.

2. Losing Weight

Typically, sudden weight loss will occur over a duration of any months with no good reason.

Weight loss can range from a few pounds to up to 20 or so.

3. Running a Fever

A random fever that keeps occurring for no good theorize (i.e., is not connected with a flu, cold, etc.) is usually an indication to go see your physician.

Symptoms of lymphoma can be confused with symptoms of other illnesses and, in fact, a lymphoma that causes fever accompanied by lymph node swelling is often mistaken for a flu or something similar.

Additionally, in those afflicted by a Hodgkins type lymphoma, a quintessential type of fever termed Pel-Ebstein fever can develop.

4. Night Sweats

Excess sweating at night may find you waking up soaked in your own sweat.

5. Pruritis (Itchiness)

Lymphoma cells can secrete inescapable substance which cause the entire body to be itchy, a condition known as pruritis.

6. Lack of Appetite

Individuals with lymphoma can touch a drop in their usual appetite which can also cause weight loss, one of the other symptoms of lymphoma listed above.

7. Fatigue and Listlessness

Cancer cells hijack the body's energy reserved supply that would otherwise be utilized by wholesome cells, causing a drop in energy levels.

8. Swelling

Depending upon where a lymphoma grows (and it can occur in any organ of the body), it may compress and block off veins, effectively limiting blood provide and causing swelling.

Site-specific lymphomas produce rather widely varying symptoms.

A lymphoma of the brain may cause pains in one's legs while a lymphoma in the stomach can cause stomach pains.

General Symptoms of Lymphoma in Women and normal Symptoms of Lymphoma in Men

The first and most inescapable sign of lymphoma is adenopathy, aka lymphadenopathy, which is a painless swelling of the lymph nodes.

Swollen lymph nodes by themselves, however, are Not necessarily an indication of lymphoma.

It requires medical testing to confirm or negate the diagnosis.

Symptoms of lymphoma can come in many varieties, dependent upon the location of the lymphoma, the stage of growth, size of tumor, etc.

Symptoms connected with bone marrow issues such as becoming anemic (having a low red blood cell count) are uncommon in the starting stages of a lymphoma but often are seen later in the game and often as a ensue of treatment.

Malt (Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue) lymphomas affect any mucosal site, the stomach being the most common one. Alterations in bowel movement and stomach pains can be indications.

As far as the stomach lymphoma goes, if it is a ensue of infection with the H. Pylori bacterium, antibiotic medicine can cause the lymphoma to regress in 70%+ of cases.

How To narrative Your Symptoms To A physician Effectively:

Describe the intensity of your indication of illness on a scale such as "This hurts about a 7 out of 10″.

For visually observable symptoms, show them to the physician and also explain how they started off and looked like initially.

Explain when you first experienced your symptoms

How long have you been experiencing this symptom?

Is the indication of illness constant or does it come and go?

Describe any medications or dietary supplements you take/did take starting from the time symptoms manifested.

Do the symptoms turn depending upon body positioning, time of day, etc.?

Do inescapable foods trigger the symptoms?

Be as graphic as possible. The more literal, and exact the facts you give, the more your physician will be able to pinpoint the nature of your qoute (if you have any!) and the great he/she will be able to treat you and propose you.

As you can see the Symptoms of Lymphoma in Women are ordinarily the same as they are for men. It's leading to pay concentration to your body and note any symptoms you may have so that you can discuss them with your physician in information and he will be in a great position to help you.

Scott Firefighter Stairclimb fundraiser video for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Scott Firefighter Stairclimb fundraiser video for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Tube. Duration : 3.95 Mins.

Fundraising video that i created for my third time participating in the event. For the fourth year in a row, I have participated in the Scott Firefighter Stair Climb in Seattle, WA. A grueling climb up 1311 steps and 69 floors in full firefighter combat gear, but nothing compares to the battle a Leukemia patient and family must go through. The first year I set what I thought was a goal that was not in reach and surpassed it. Last year I again thought my goal was unreachable, yet through your support I went beyond once again. This year I have set my goal slightly higher to make myself go the extra mile in fundraising. Knowing that every dollar raised goes to help with research, patient services, and education of Leukemia patients makes my climb worthwhile. On a personal level the event and the cause is motivating for me. My mother Peggy was diagnosed with Chronic Mylogenous Leukemia that nearly took her life beginning in 1986. Her long battle with the disease, its many side effects, and its treatments slowly worked to weaken her body nearly taking her life several times. Her long battle with CML ended with a miracle when she received a bone marrow transplant in 1990. The unmatched, unrelated bone marrow transplant was the first of its kind at The Ohio State University and was before the James Cancer Institute came to fruition. Without fundraisers such as this stairclimb, money for research, patient support, education, and assistance, her life may not have been saved. Help ...

It is a kind of disease which when spreads in any part of the body starts to decay that section. It is admittedly a cursing disease and has put many lives to suffer.

Often we come to hear about the "Lymph Nodes". This is the section where lymphoma tends to attack. These nodes are swollen at the time we are carrying any bacterial infection. A time comes when the cells in this section start to design and their rapid increase curse the section. The final stage of this amelioration results in Lymphoma.

Causes & Symptoms:

Age:

There are two age groups who are found with the disease. The first percentile is reported in old people, who are above the age of 60. In children it is recorded in the kids who have a weak or pre-mature immune system.

Already disturbed or weak immune system:

The person with a weaker immune principles can admittedly come under the influence of Lymphoma. A weak immune principles itself invites this disease after that it spreads rapidly.

Inherited:

Lymphoma can be inherited. If anyone had the same syndrome in his or her family, then it increases the likelihood for the disease to come back to the person.

Wild About Harry Trailer

Wild About Harry Trailer Video Clips. Duration : 2.68 Mins.

"Wild about Harry, The Harry Lee Story" is a one-hour documentary about the late Jefferson Parish Sheriff Harry Lee. This documentary commemorates the second anniversary of Harry Lee's death and is being presented to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Wild about Harry is the story of an improbable hero, the nation's only Chinese-American Sheriff, a brash 350-pound cowboy who sang with Willie Nelson, threw parties on the White House lawn with Bill Clinton and used his political power to raise big money, much of which he gave to charity. Born in the back room of a Chinese laundry in New Orleans, Harry Lee followed the ritual of expectation set by his immigrant parents. One of eight children and the eldest son, Harry became a successful businessman, attorney, elected official, civic leader and philanthropist. The man elevated political incorrectness to high art, and yet, as an elected public official, earned the highest popularity rating in the state's history. This film presents a vivid portrait of a man who embraced life with gusto -- a man who was loved, honored, vilified, satirized, but never ignored.

Leukemia Causes and Its Effects on Blood Cells

Leukemia is cancer of blood which starts in bone marrow. The word "Leukemia" means white blood. The end result of leukemia is allowance in blood cells count. To understand leukemia, it is very prominent to be aware of the formation of blood.

Our blood consists of plasma and cells which float in this yellow colored liquid. Blood cells are categorized into red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Each of these types performs very prominent job in our body. Red cell transport oxygen from lungs to all tissues of body and bring back carbon dioxide which is then breath out. Deficiency in red blood cells may cause diseases like anemia. White cells are construction blocks of immune system. Immune principles detects risky substances in body and kills them. So white cells safe our body against diseases attacks. Lack of white cells exposes body to discrete diseases. Platelets are clotting bodies. Platelets clot blood and stop bleeding in case of any wound. Deficiency of platelets may result in too much bleeding and excess of platelets leads to clots in blood.

What Is Leukemia

All blood cells are produced in bone marrow. Due to some unknown reasons, damage is caused to the Dna of cells (mostly white blood cells). As a result of this damage, bone marrow produces abnormal cells. These abnormal cells are produced at rapid speed. General body cells are supplanted by fresh wholesome cells after few months but these abnormal cells last for long time. Eventually, abnormal cells replace practically all of the General cells if left untreated. This situation is called leukemia. Leukemia is also called cancer of bone marrow because it starts in bone marrow.

Leukemia symptoms comprise swelling in lymph nodes, pain in joints, bruising, weight loss, night sweats and tiredness. If some one feels such symptoms, he should not worry as leukemia symptoms are shared by many other diseases. He should immediately perceive his doctor. The pathology of leukemia is done by Cbc and bone marrow test and its rehabilitation options includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy and bone marrow transplant. Often, a mixed coming is used to treat leukemia.

Vegan Diet Tips Tube. Duration : 4.27 Mins.

www.caryellis.com Get FREE Guide to Healing Your Body Naturally. Cary Ellis here author of "Super Immunity Secrets" and other tools for healthy living. Today we are talking about a vegan diet plan. What would a vegan diet plan be? Vegan means a person who chooses to be completely vegetarian. Which means consuming nothing with face, feet or tail, also including nothing of any sort of animal origin (such as dairy or eggs). Most vegans also avoid honey, as it was made by another creature, and refuse to wear leather shoes and clothing. Vegan foods include fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains and beans. Actually vegan diet these days is proving to be quite healthy. A study called " The China Study" (great book written on it in the past couple of years) by Colin Campbell. Collin Campbell, top protein researcher, lead study, with the original goal to prove these people needed more protein. Over this 35 year study in China they demonstrated that every degenerative illness could be reversed or prevented with maximum 7 % animal foods in the diet. So this is quite a landmark study. Even Colin Campbell and his family became vegetarian through this process. We realize that enough simple protein can be found in places that we hadn't thought of before. Virtually pretty much every fruit, vegetable, grain and bean does have protein, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals and nutrients needed to sustain life. comprehension continuing Leukemia

Leukemia is a disease of the blood and bone marrow that occurs on the background of genetic predispositions to cancer. Leukemia affects the cellular process of maturation, causing the accumulation of immature blood cells in the spinal marrow and bloodstream. In some cases leukemia causes the incomplete cells to multiply very quickly, while in other cases the abnormal blood cells have continued periods of life and persist in dissimilar places inside the body. Incomplete blood cells can't substitute for normal blood cells, as they can't carry out their roles. The cells affected by leukemia are therefore incompatible with the organism and can cause serious damage.

Judging by the speed of amelioration and the persistence of the disorder, there are two types of leukemia: acute leukemia and persisting leukemia. Judging by the types of stem cells affected by the disorder, leukemia can either be lymphocytic or myelogenous.

What Is Leukemia

Acute leukemia is dissimilar from persisting leukemia by the levels that stem cells are able to reach in their amelioration (stem cells that present anomalies still administrate to partially form and either seem immature cells or complete, normal white blood cells).

Acute leukemia is a form of cancer that develops very rapidly. It is manifested straight through overpopulation of the blood with immature cells that are unable to fulfill the functions of normal blood cells. In the case of acute leukemia, the marrow is unable to produce normal quantities of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Patients who suffer from leukemia also form anemia, a deficiency of normal red blood cells. Also, a decreased number of white blood cells reduces the body's quality of overcoming infections, while the lack of platelets facilitates inflammation and bleeding.

Chronic leukemia tends to form slower than acute leukemia. In the case of persisting leukemia, the body is able to produce blood cells that are more mature than those produced in acute leukemia. Although these cells may appear incomplete, they can't fulfill their roles inside the organism and tend to cluster at dissimilar levels of the body. They also have a longer duration of life.

Chronic leukemia of lymphocytic form is known to sway a type of blood cell called B lymphocyte. The disease weakens the immune system, interferes in the normal operation of the spinal marrow and facilitates the passage of harmful cells to body organs. persisting lymphocytic leukemia first occurs at the levels of the bone marrow, but can swiftly spread to dissimilar organs and tissue straight through the bloodstream.

The presence of persisting lymphocytic leukemia is ordinarily revealed by blood tests and meticulous body examination. Although apparently some habitancy may have no symptoms of the disease, other patients may experience fatigue, lack of concentration, poor balance, memory loss, deterioration of vision and hearing, vertigos, body weakness, joint and bone pains. Just like in other forms of the disease, persisting leukemia requires immediate definite medicine and therapy. The chances of fully overcoming the disease are considerably enhanced if it is discovered quickly.

There were 34 patients that were in the study and all they received was the vitamin A. Out of these 34 patients that received the vitamin A, 10 of these patients where still cancer free after five years even though none of these patients received the chemotherapy treatments. This is for my boyfriend EJ Yeung who died from leukemia at the age of 16 on the 26th of April 2011 . Yea, too young. I made him this video during his battle and was thankful that he was able to see and watch this. The video was blocked due to copyright infringement. I used our favorite song 'Collide' by Howie Day as the background music of the video. I didn't know it was a no no. They said my video had a content type of sound recording and SME owns it. (I dunno what SME is). Sooooo.. as the only solution to get my video seen again. I did the audio swap. I picked an audio track to replace my BG music. It took me so long to pick 'cause the tracks are so outdated and I had no choice. So I hope the new track is fine. :) To EJ: Babe, sorry I had to change the music. I did it just so other people can see this, see us. :) Anyways, I still have the orig copy so no worries. :) I love you!

I sat up in my chair. "Mike, she asked, answer her." Cameron said. "Babe, it's gone." My jaw dropped. "Already?" my eyes widened. They all nodded their heads. I shot out of the chair and jumped on Michael's bed with him, hopefully I didn't break his just-healed bones. "Really?" I asked. "Yes" and with that he placed his lips on mine. I was so happy I couldn't explain it. "I'm being released tomorrow." He said. I reached for Michael's doorknob, he was home today I couldn't wait to see him. I walked in and saw no one. "Mikey?" Pre-Leukemia - New Discoveries in the treatment of Pre-Leukemia

Recent studies show that a mild form of chemotherapy with the use of decitabine, administered over a longer period of time, can have significantly advantageous results for patients diagnosed with pre-leukemia. More widely known as Myelodysplastic Syndrome (Mds), pre-leukemia was recognized as a certified form of cancer just recently.

The American Cancer Society's journal published this study in their most recent issue, taking a more detailed look at pre-leukemia and its effects on the human body.

What Is Leukemia

New explore Revelations

Researchers estimate than 45% of the patients with pre-leukemia symptoms and those who go straight through a relapse acknowledge to a second treatment course. However, they did not get the period and ability in their second round of treatment, compared to the first few rounds of chemotherapy. With the new findings, researchers are leaning towards the reliance that preliminary treatments given over a longer period may have more benefits compared to numerous chemotherapy rounds.

It was discovered in the study that an average of three rounds of decitabine treatment had 10 out of the 22 patients exhibiting any type of response. Seven of the patients were observed to have haematological improvements and experienced a 50% decrease in their need for tranfusions, while three of the patients partly or thoroughly had an supervene in every one of their three cell lines. Overall, the average survival rate was declared to be 28 months, with those patients treated again with decitabine having a 13-month rate of survival before suffering from any sort of relapse.

In the group where 12 of the patients did not have any response to decitabine, the treatment had one of these two results: no supervene whatsoever or the abnormal cells' suppression, without the normal cells repopulating the bone marrow. Out of the 12 patients mentioned, four industrialized acute leukemia from the pre-leukemia.

The authors close that the most advantageous treatment type for pre-leukemia patients is the preliminary chemotherapy session given in longer durations, followed by maintenance of shorter treatment rounds.

Pre-leukemia

Pre-leukemia is an affliction that targets the bone marrow, resulting in an increased whole of ineffective red and white blood cells. Usually, the cells blast and yield from the stem cells while multiplying in the blood stream, at last killing the normal blood cells. This results in an irregular production of blood cells, causing fewer blood cells to form (which are needed to circulate and carry oxygen to distinct body parts).

Although therapy is effortlessly available, pre-leukemia affects adults in their 50s, and researchers still have to find the ultimate cure. Patients suffering from pre-leukemia generally found leukemia, or cancer of the blood cells. This study shows that this new Dna hypomethylating agent, decitabine, will have the most benefits for patients.

What Exactly is Lymphoma?

Lymphoma is not a singular disease, it is in fact a group of diseases in which the cells of the immune principles become cancerous and begin to divide and multiply in an uncontrolled manner in a lymph node. Initially a singular lymph node may be affected however the cancer may swiftly spread around the body straight through the lymphatic principles so that other nodes and also other tissues, such as the bone marrow, become affected.

A amount of the immune principles cell types can become cancerous along with the T cells and the B cells which are the body's two main defense mechanisms against illness and infection. The immune principles cells are carried in the blood stream and straight through the lymphatic principles and so the lymphoma cancers can be very mobile and affect areas of the body far from the original cancerous site.

What Is Leukemia

The fact that you have swollen lymph glands does not automatically mean you have a lymphoma cancer because there are a amount of other diseases which cause the lymph nodes to swell; in fact any disease which requires the aid of the immune principles will cause mild swelling in many of the lymph glands. If however you have swelling in a singular gland that is painless and indication of illness free then you should make an appointment with your physician just to check it out.

There are various types of lymphoma cancer however the two main types are Hodgkin's disease and non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Hodgkin's disease is characterized by painless enlargement of one or more lymph nodes, most generally in the chest, neck and armpits. If the caner has spread from these introductory sites then fevers, night sweats, weight loss and bone pain can also occur. Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, which is the more base disease of the two, may start in exactly the same way however the patient may also form an enlarged spleen, anemia and normal malaise.

Because the lymphoma cancers are so mobile a sufferer can often experience symptoms in other areas of the body that they would not necessarily associate with cancer which means that unless you know what to look for i.e. Swollen lymph glands, you may well dismiss the problem as being due to a easy illness, such as the flu, as this also causes many of the symptoms displayed by lymphoma patients. Also, because the cells of the immune principles are primarily affected a person with a lymphoma cancer will swiftly become more susceptible than usual to even the weakest pathogens i.e. Their immune principles becomes weaker and fails to protect the body from disease.

The good news is that as with other forms of cancer, lymphomas are treatable and so anything diagnosed shouldn't give up hope of prominent a long and salutary life. You need to find out as much data as you can about the illness and find coping strategies that work for you and your family. You will need to experience whether chemotherapy, radiation therapy or maybe a bone marrow transplant however lymphoma patients today have a high survival rate and many habitancy are cured of the disease totally.

3. Persisting lymphocytic Leukemia (Cll), often suffered by adult more than 55 year-old. It is sometimes also suffered by young adult and almost never at childhood.

According to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, about 15 thousands new cases of Persisting lymphocytic leukemia are found in the United States every year. Persisting lymphocytic leukemia most ordinarily happened among adults in age 50 or more. Cll signed by the teenage lymphocyte convention in bone marrow, blood, lymph nodes, and other organ.

There are two types of lymphocyte in our blood, namely B lymphocyte and T lymphocyte. About 95% of Cll cases entangle B lymphocyte which has the character of cancer. This malignant B lymphocyte owns longer life compared to a normal cell,so the estimate of malignant cells increases in numerous numbers and results in dismissal of normal corpuscles. teenage functional cells accumulation in bone marrow hinders the salutary cell growth and can become fatal. Its symptoms include the fatigue, pain in bone, night sweating, fever, and losing appetite and body weight. A Major Threat - Feline Leukemia

Like in humans, felines can fabricate exceptionally deadly curative conditions. One of many most frequent and deadly types of ailment a kitty might catch is feline leukemia., called FeLv. Leukemia, and is also found in people, is a illness of the white blood cells. There are three main kinds of this leukemia. Presently, we are able to shield our kittens and cats for FeLv by using a vaccine, as a result it is prominent to have your pet up- to- date with condition care constantly.

With FeLv, there's three illness categories. The 1st make up the leukemias, that are analogous with what leukemia is just like in human beings. This indeed is cancer of the white blood cells. Yet, not all FeLv illnesses will be cancer. Lymphosarcoma is the second group. Additionally cancerous, this disease begins in the lymphoid cells around the lymph nodes. It disturbs the intestinal region, kidneys, liver, spine, brain, blood, in expanding to bone marrow. The third class will be the non- cancerous illnesses that fall under the umbrella related with FeLv and can contain immune suppression, anemia, in expanding to arthritis. A few of these curative ailments may also be deadly.

What Is Leukemia

Cats and kittens are commonly exposed to FeLv whenever they get into fights. FeLv is a virus that is spread principally by way of saliva, and the injuries your kitty acquires straight through bites during a battle provide an entry point into the body. Felines may get FeLv from sharing foodstuff as well as water bowls, grooming one another, in expanding to transmission via mother to minute kitties. If the kitty contracts FeLv, there may be numerous inherent results. inevitable types of the disease can not be cured, unfortunately, thus avoidance is important. Keep in mind, though, that a kitty might survive the qoute for quite some time and so your vet might help you choose a good course of action. Pet cats infected with FeLv are commonly hazardous to other pet cats, and so they need to live in confined sole- kitten families, or you can choose euthanasia.

So far, there are no reports that have discovered any link among this disorder captivating pet cats and diseases captivating human beings, consequently your house should be secure. Even then, elevated- risk population should avoid palpate with a sick animal. This includes newborns, senior folks, Aids sufferers, as well as chemotherapy patients. Because the virus can't exist for more than some hours covering of the cat, you are secure in having cats and kittens return to your home as soon as two days once the contaminated cat is gone. Talk to your vet for more information.

Feline Leukemia and The Challenges

Feline leukemia is one of the prominent causes of illness as well as deaths in cats worldwide, and it is also one of the most challenging. It is estimated that over one third of the cats that are infected by this virus will eliminate it thoroughly from their system within four to six weeks, and will not become ill. The second third will not be able to eliminate it form their system but will not design any related diseases, but for the final third, the outcome may be much more grime.

It is estimated that this last third will design a related disease and as a result, will die with 12 to 24 months.

What Is Leukemia

What exactly is it?

Feline leukemia is perhaps better known as feline leukemia virus, or FeLv, and is a viral disease that affects all breeds of domestic cats and attacks their immune system. Once this system has become compromised, it not only can cause immunodeficiency as well as leukemia, it can and does cause other types of cancer.

There are several engaging aspects with this virus, and perhaps the largest is the fact that some cats may show honestly no signs of infection for months or even years in some cases, after they have become infected.

It is considered to be one of the largest causes of both illness and deaths in cats, and the midpoint age of the first signs of infection is about three years old or younger. It is also believed that male cats for some hypothesize are more prone to the virus, as well as cats that live in a multi-cat household. However, if you ordinarily keep your cat in a cattery or live in an urban area such as New York City or London, your cat is also at a higher degree of risk of infection.

How it is transmitted:

Feline leukemia or FeLv has yet another very engaging aspect to it; it is destroyed within minutes after reaching the environment, however, it only takes a very brief encounter to infect your cat. It is also very species specific, meaning it cannot be transmitted for cats to humans.

Once a cat becomes infected, they carry large amounts of the virus in their saliva, and this is by far and away the most base recipe of transmission. However, even though bite wounds are one the assorted ways that it can be transmitted, it is not the most common. The most base recipe is mutual grooming, and as any cat owner understands, this is very base in most cats. If an infected cat touches noses with another cat, it may be passed. If your cat shares a food or water dish with an infected cat, this is also one of the ways it is transmitted.

However, it can also be transmitted by your cat's tears, their urine, or by their feces, but to a much lessor degree. Once a cat becomes mature and their immune system is strong, it takes very large amounts of the virus for them to become infected. Kittens will plainly become infected in two ways from an infected mother; the placenta and through their provide of milk.

If your cat is infected after any of these forms of exposure, it advances into the acute stage, where it can be found in large numbers in their bloodstream. However, this is yet another of the challenges with this virus; if your cat blood is not tested you may never know they have it. As indicated, the vast majority of cats, over sixty percent, will whether plainly rid themselves of the virus or they will show no symptoms at all.

There are, however, several things that will happen to your cat. The first is that honestly nothing will happen, as their immune system plainly wards it off or the exposure was not strong adequate to honestly infect them. However, some cats may design latent infection. A latent infection, or regressive infection, implies that your cats system was not able destroy the virus that is attacking them, but it can control it. If your cat has this form of the infection, they will show no symptoms at all but something much more prominent happens; they cannot shed or send it.

If they design what is referred to as a progression infection, the outlook is much more troubling. When this occurs, your cats immune system is whether not strong adequate or is compromised, and as a result, they will constantly stay infected. Once this stage is hit, two very troubling things occur; they saliva contains large amounts of the virus, and they will slowly start to design the diseases that are related with it.

Associated diseases:

Feline leukemia can cause several other diseases to design as the follow of the infection, but it is widely held that over one third of all progressive infected cats will design cancer. However, that is just the starting of the list. Immunodeficiency leads the list of other diseases, and this can place your cat in very high danger of developing other infections. These contain bacterial, and viral infections, as well as fungi infections. One of the most base types of diseases to affect your cat with immunodeficiency is Fip, or Feline Infectious Peritonitis.

The next base disease is anemia, as leukemia plainly attacks your cat's bone marrow. Reproductive problems are also a very large risk as it is often the fundamental cause of infertility in cats. It can also very honestly follow in a stillborn litter, abortions, as well as re-absorption of fetuses. But there is still more, as it cans also cause gastrointestinal and neurological diseases. Gastrointestinal diseases contain cancer in your cat's stomach or their intestines, as well as damaging their intestinal wall causing anorexia and severe weight loss.

Neurological diseases contain blindness, paralysis, seizures, as well as ataxia, which is a health where your cat will no longer be able to contend their balance. Feline leukemia can also lead to several dissimilar platelet disorders, including a dysfunction referred to as thrombocytopenia. Your cat's lymph nodes can also be attacked by this wicked virus and includes lymphadenopathy, which affects several of your cat lymph nodes.

It can also causes disease that affect your cats respiratory system as well as causing several oral diseases such as stomatitis and gingivitis.

Summary:

Feline leukemia is a very engaging disease and you may never know that your cat has it, until it is too late. There are several vaccinations for this virus, but there is still one more challenge; none of them are 100 percent sufficient and some of them can cause vaccinated fibro sarcomas, which are tumors of your cat's connective tissues. The only real safe bet that you have with this very wicked virus, is to have your cat tested as it much better than not having them tested.

Justin Bieber Love Story *~Unexpected #72~* Tube. Duration : 0.25 Mins.

M arathon:: [8/8] Ronnie's POV;; I fluttered my eyelids at an easy rate, like a butterfly would flutter it's wings; but with a way higher strength. I managed to move my head to the side and welcome the light blinding sun that was beaming through my windows, it's light, black, dusty shadow reflecting swiftly on the floor. I flashed my eyes over at the calendar that was hanging loosely on the wall, November the fourth. Then they visited the ticking, un-still clock that was hanging on the other side of the room. My time and my days were beginning to melt. In fact; they already have begun and I couldn't actually believe it. I moved away the puffy bed covers from my fragile body, stuck out my both legs out of the bed and made my way to the bathroom where I will be seeing the same reflection of an dieing, desperate teenager at the age of six-teen who had Leukemia. She had a life who was filled with a lot of unexpected surprised. Some were un-regreting, some were not. But you can never reverse the time back. I really wish I could. - Ashlynn: ''HE PROPOSED?!!''
