Part 1 Summary: Troubled by the small letter "D" he found embedded under Blair's fingernail, John pursues a hunch and studies the autopsy reports of Wes Granger and Lee Halpern. His hunch pays off when he makes a surprising discovery. Rex follows a hunch of his own and takes a blood test to determine why he was so out of it that he wound up in bed with Stacy the night before. Gigi is unsettled by the whole incident and throws her sister out. Stacy doesn't remain homeless long as she shows up on Schuyler's doorstep. Meanwhile, Gigi joins Rex at the hospital where she expects to learn the results of Rex's blood test. Instead, she's met with shocking news about Shane: he has leukemia. Marcie sees Cole's toxicology report and is stunned to discover Cole is RH negative, the same as Starr, and therefore Hope could not have died from RH disease, as Dr. Joplin had reported. Meanwhile, Natalie and Jared decide to put to bed their investigation into Jessica's actions the night Chloe was born ... until Marcie shares with them what she has learned. Brody is released from St. Ann's and Jessica helps him re-enter society.
