My two-year-old neutered male pōpoki (cat) humping his "friend" (a stuffed toy) Tube. Duration : 3.22 Mins.
A video of my beloved two-year-old pōpoki engaged in some odd behavior he's picked up over the last few weeks: grabbing his stuffed animal toy by its neck, slowly dragging it around in a circle, then dropping to the ground with it, and appearing to kick at it. Rinse and repeat. This occurs several times in a row, and always with the same toy. He appears to be in a trance, as if concentrating hard on what he's doing. He's indoors-only, neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV (feline leukemia) FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), gets fed twice a day with wet/dry (Wellness CORE Fish & Fowl for Cats/Wellness Grain-Free Canned Chicken), receives a snack at night, has lots of toys/huge cat tree/numerous scratching posts, and receives lots of love and attention every day. If it helps, he's a bottle-fed kitten; we've had him since he was a two-week-old, 8-oz newborn kitten. He's never done this prior. With certain toys, he'd carry them into his mouth, drop them on the ground, and utter a plaintive "meow" as if communicating to them ... he did this mainly at night while we were asleep. That's the only odd thing he's done before. A volunteer at a no-kill cat shelter mentioned it might be a show of aggression/dominance? He's the alpha cat in our multiple-cat household of 3, but he's never tried to show dominance on the other cats by trying to hump them, or bite their neck to hold them down. He gets along with both, and he's been around them ...

Augusto Boal (April 16, 1931 - May 2, 2009) After spending the past 2 weeks re-reading his books- i didn't expect to be putting up an obituary instead of a vlog. I found out today that he died on Saturday. I'd been tagged by KazukiSeirei a couple of weeks ago for another 5 facts tag, and i offered to vlog on something that really inspires me instead. This is the man I intended to vlog on. His work is truly inspirational to me, and I think, so very useful for the times we live in. I studied the theatre forms of Augusto Boal for 2 years- doing practical street theatre, invisible theatre, community drama, Theatre in Conflict Resolution and other dramatherapy. I wanted to vlog about him and in particular, Invisible Theatre and how it works to empower people and create real social and political change. I've had a load of little synchronicites that kept pointing me back to his work in the past month, & learned i had missed a workshop he himself held here in London just 4 weeks ago... so it's a bit strange to hear he's died after I had been geeking out on his life's work when i hadn't looked at it in 10 years! Every year Zoeller Ministries & PBOC host 70+ families with terminally-ill children to an all-expense paid weekend at Sebring Raceway. In the last couple of years, the Kids Racing For Life (KRFL) program has suffered tremendous cut-backs due to the down economy. The event in 2010 was nearly cancelled due to a lack of donations. With the permission of Zoeller Ministries, TrackWeekend.com & Massive Motorsports have teamed up to help keep this wonderful program running. The first step was to help raise awareness, and what better way to do this than by creating a video showcasing what the event is about. We asked some of our friends, pro-drivers and club owners to help us tell this story. The outcome was a genuinely heartfelt and impactful video. Amongst these, 1520% died from injuries or the combined effects of flash burns, trauma, and radiation burns, compounded by illness, malnutrition and radiation sickness. Since then, more have died from leukemia (231 observed) and solid cancers (334 observed) attributed to exposure to radiation released by the bombs. In both cities, most of the dead were civilians.
