Steve Goodman : The Dutchman

Steve Goodman : The Dutchman Video Clips. Duration : 4.75 Mins.

"The Dutchman" is a song written by Michael Peter Smith in 1968 and popularized by Steve Goodman. Curiously enough, at the time Smith wrote the song, he had never visited The Netherlands. The song is about an elderly couple living in Amsterdam, Margaret and the title character. The unnamed Dutchman is senile, and Margaret cares for him with a sadness over what has happened to him over the years. It's a story of unconditional love, evoked with concise imagery and a wonderful, irresistable chorus. While Goodman's cover version of "The Dutchman" is one of the best known and loved along with a cover by Irish artist Liam Clancy, the song has been recorded by many other artists including John Gorka, Suzy Boggus, Norm Hacking, Anne Hills, John McDermott, The New Kingston Trio, Gamble Rogers, Tom Russell, Jerry Jeff Walker, Robert James Waller and Josh White, Jr. Steve Goodman (July 25, 1948 -- September 20, 1984) was an American folk music singer-songwriter from Chicago, Illinois. The writer of "City of New Orleans", made popular by Arlo Guthrie, Goodman won two Grammy Awards. Steve died of leukemia at the age of 36, a great loss to family, friends and the wider music community. "The Dutchman" can be found on Steve's "Somebody Else's Troubles" album. Lympho What?

How to minimise this troublesome complication

Lymphoedema is hard to sound and harder to spell. But its meaning is uncomplicated sufficient - and it is a very real question for some habitancy with cancer. Oedema naturally means swelling, and lymphoedema is a swelling caused by a failure of lymph fluid drainage. Some habitancy manufacture this sort of swelling because of infections in the skin and tissues, or because of an inherited question with the lymphatic law itself. But in the Uk the main cause is cancer or its treatment.

What Is Leukemia

The lymphatic law is made up of tubes called lymph vessels and glands called lymph nodes. They provide a one-way drainage law through which fluid is taken away from the tissues and passed back into the bloodstream. Lymph is the name of this colourless fluid, which carries proteins, microbes and unwanted particles that are filtered through the lymph nodes on the way to the bloodstream.Groups of lymph nodes are found in the neck, armpits and groin.

Any tumour or rehabilitation in an area of nodes can obstruct lymph flow. For example, breast cancer may lead to lymphoedema of the arm on the same side, while an excision of lymph nodes in the groin because of skin cancer can supervene in lymphoedema of the leg. The protein-rich swelling that develops in lymphoedema can make the skin dry and thickened and the arm or leg feel heavy and uncomfortable.

Although lymphoedema cannot be cured, much can be done to cut and control the problems it causes. And expert clinics now exist in many areas to help patients to conduct the condition themselves. For those at risk of developing lymphoedema because of the nature of their cancer or its treatment, there are some precautions you can take to prevent it or minimise its effects:

* Avoid puncturing or grazing the skin on the same side as your treatment. Insect bites, gardening injuries and even nail biting can damage the skin and allow infection in;* If possible, don't offer the affected limb for injections, blood samples or blood pressure checks;
* Avoid holding the limb in one position, such as carrying a bag or cramped in the back of a car;
* Take gentle, regular exercise, but avoid inordinate or strenuous exertion.

The first signs of lymphoedema may be a minute and soft swelling over part of the body - regularly an arm or leg. The swelling may be intermittent and accompanied by sensations of discomfort, tightness or pins and needles. If you reason lymphoedema seek early medical advice.

saveuvugirl.blogspot.com Friends hope website can help save Utah student By Jed Boal SALT LAKE CITY -- A young Mongolian woman is locked in a fight for her life, and she and her friends need to spread the word faster than leukemia cells multiply. She is already grateful for extraordinary generosity from strangers, but she needs more than 0000 or the cancer will kill her. Urangoo Baatarkhuyag arrived in Provo eight years ago to get a good education and to better her life. She recently graduated from Utah Valley University, but less than two months ago she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, a very aggressive cancer. Now her friends and family are racing to save her life. "It's been up and down. It's been really hard," Baatarkhuyag says. She is small in stature, but, she is putting up a big fight against her disease, which threatens to kill her. This summer, just months after she earned her bachelor's in technology management at Utah Valley University, she got very sick and did not get better. "Fever every night, sweating; and I had bruises that wouldn't go away," Baatarkhuyag explains. Blood tests in September revealed the cancer. "She texted me and said: My blood test result came back really bad. They said I might have leukemia. I'm really emotional and cannot talk on the phone,'" Baatarkhuyag's friend Otgo Carter remembers. "I was shaking," Baatarkhuyag says. "I didn't know what to do. I thought I would drive to the hospital, but I couldn't." She was admitted ...

Blindness Part 2

Blindness Part 2 Video Clips. Duration : 0.18 Mins.

Part 2 ------------------------- Mileys POV I heard the last bell ring, and promptly left the classroom, and grabbed my bag. As I was leaving the school, I walked by the populars. They laughed at me, Nick and Nicole probably recounted to them what happened this morning. Well screw them. I tripped, big whoop. Its not like the prank of the century or something. Honestly, I dont get whats funny at all. I walked the 3 blocks to Jefferson Clinic; the local hospital. I walked in and smiled at the Andrew. He was the receptionist. He glanced up and waved me through. He could be funny, but usually is just super stressed. He says that hes 27 but I think hes at least 35. Maybe its just the stress? Who knows. I walked inside the elevator and pressed 4. There was no one else inside so I got upstairs pretty fast. I walked down the corridor and reached the main desk for the floor and looked at Jennifer. She pretended like she was writing something down, but it wasnt that hard to tell that she wasnt. She pretty much hated my guts. I think its because my dad is the head surgeon and she cant say anything to me or else she could get fired. Its not like I would tell anyone, but whatever. I cleared my throat and she glanced up and faked a smile. Story of my life. Miley- Where is my dad? Jennifer- Hes in the middle of a surgery, he wont be out for a while. Miley- Ok, thanks. I turned around and walked back towards the elevator until I reached a door labeled Dr. Cyrus I turned the handle and ...

Red Wings Spread Cheer at Children's Hospital Updated: Tuesday, 14 Dec 2010, 7:30 PM EST Published : Tuesday, 14 Dec 2010, 7:30 PM EST By JENNIFER HAMMOND WJBK | myFOXDetroit.com DETROIT (WJBK) - Having a sick child is hard any time of the year, bit it is especially painful around the holidays. One local sports team is working to spread a little holiday cheer. Nine-year-old Samantha's battle with leukemia brought them together, but Detroit Red Wings Coach Mike Babcock's passion for helping sick kids has them on a first name basis. "The guys and myself, we're not doing the research. Lots of times we're not even raising the money, and we're not making anyone better. We try to do our part, and our part is to help Samantha feel better and create a friendship, a relationship there that they can understand who we are and ideally you can help them," he said. "It's always like an eye-opener when you come here and see some of the kids and see what they're going through. This is real life what you see here, so it's a humbling experience for the players to come and see," said Red Wings Captain Nick Lindstrom. Babcock spends a lot of time with the kids at Children's Hospital, but for some of the players that only make it once a year, it makes an impression of them, but it lasts even longer for the patients. "It's very hard to be here and we need little areas like this, and the Red Wings have done so much for this hospital. It's fantastic. It really has helped people like us out a lot ...

Leukemia Symptoms

Leukemia is one of the most risky types of cancer because it affects the blood, which has a estimate of very important functions such as transporting oxygen to the distinct organs to the body. Given this, there has been considerable explore on the disease, which includes explore in formulating treatments and in the early detection of symptoms.

The current literature on leukemia presents a estimate of symptoms that can be detected on first exam and symptoms that can be seen after more thorough tests. Presented below is some of the literature with regard to these symptoms.

What Is Leukemia

Initial signs and symptoms

Medical explore has characterized the first signs and symptoms of leukemia as nonspecific and vague. This is because some symptoms can be found in non-cancer patients as well. However, researchers have identified some general features among the symptoms of population with leukemia: abnormal bleeding, weight loss, fatigue, malaise (nonspecific feeling of corporeal discomfort), inordinate bruising (hematoma), weakness, bone or joint pain, abdominal pain, infections and fever, enlarged spleen lymph nodes and liver, and a reduced tolerance for exercise. However, there are cases wherein population with leukemia exhibit no symptoms or are asymptomatic until the disease becomes chronic. The other symptoms of leukemia also comprise the symptoms that distinct organs may exhibit as a supervene of the cancer cells being deposited in the organ due to the leukemia.

Further testing

Once leukemia is suspected, physicians often recommend added testing for confirmation purposes. For leukemia, the most coarse test is a blood test, wherein any abnormalities connected to leukemia can be seen. One of these abnormalities is anemia, which means that the blood has very low levels of erythrocytes or red blood cells; unusual paleness of the sick person and a sure level of respiratory mystery often spin this condition. an additional one abnormality is Leukopenia, which means that the blood has very low levels of leukocytes or white blood cells, which increases the risk of infection in the patient. Other abnormalities comprise Neutropenia, Thrombocytopenia, and Thrombocytosis.

There has been considerable explore on leukemia because it is considered one of the most risky forms of cancer. Given this, a huge body of literature on its treatment and its symptoms has been created. As a supervene of this, population can now get more data on its symptoms, which can help them detect these symptoms early, which is the key to effectively treating cancers such as leukemia.

Leukemia - Causes, Symptoms and rehabilitation

There are some diseases that occur without much of the fault of the sufferers. One of the most horrible diseases is Cancer and among Cancer if there is anything that is quite dangerous, it is the Leukemia. It is the Cancer of the blood or bone marrow. Its quite hazardous and difficult to cure.

There are two main types of Leukemia, the Acute and the Chronic. When the adolescent blood gets weight age in the body and it is increased more than the mature blood, it gets converted into Leukemia. In this type an immediate rehabilitation is must as if the blood gets circulated in majority of the parts of body, it becomes difficult to cope the situation and that results into the blocking of bone marrow to produce wholesome blood cells. So, the curing should be deadly faster. Also the lymphocytes Leukemia and myelogenous Leukemia are also the other types of this disease.

What Is Leukemia

Leukemia Symptoms are difficult to find outer as it is totally internal process. If in any of the reports it is found to have the damage of bone marrow or even the lack of platelets can be the surmise of this cancer. Other indication of illness can be the suppressing or dysfunctional behavior of White Cells in Blood without any reason. Leukemia prevents the immune principles so if there are complains of frequent infections or even the tonsils, sores in mouth are felt, diarrhea, pneumonia or even the opportunistic infections are felt than there are thoughprovoking chances of converting the diseases into Leukemia.

Causes of Leukemia

There are no graphic reasons of Leukemia as such but still synthetic ionizing radiation, distinct type of viruses that cause the blood platelets balancing qoute and also the smoking or tobacco habit is the surmise of this disease to occur to safe bet extent.

There are some of the habitancy in whom the maternal-fatal transmission has come to be the surmise for the Leukemia occurrence. Also some of the habitancy are found to have the genetic predisposition as the surmise of this disease to happen.

Treatment of Leukemia

The rehabilitation is difficult yet not impossible as some of the medication rehabilitation are required to get cured and beside this there are also the radiation therapy and bone marrow transplantation are the treatments of this diseases. But still nothing gives guarantee as the determination has no outer symptoms and the stage in which the diseases are approached is also important.

So, have the best rehabilitation and better curing of the diseases that is quite difficult to handle, Leukemia.

Accidentally discovered fuel from salt water and a way to kill cancer

Accidentally discovered fuel from salt water and a way to kill cancer Tube. Duration : 4.28 Mins.

Last winter, inventor John Kanzius was already attempting one seemingly impossible feat -- building a machine to cure cancer with radio waves -- when his device inadvertently succeeded in another: He made saltwater catch fire. TV footage of his bizarre discovery has been burning up the blogosphere ever since, drawing crackpots and Ph.Ds alike into a raging debate. Can water burn? And if so, what good can come of it? Some people gush over the invention's potential for desalinization or cheap energy. Briny seawater, after all, sloshes over most of the planet's surface, and harnessing its heat energy could power all sorts of things. Skeptics say Kanzius's radio generator is sucking up far more energy than it's creating, making it a carnival trick at best. For now, Kanzius is tuning out the hubbub. The retired radio- and television- station owner says the saltwater stuff is interesting, but a cancer breakthrough is what he's really after. Diagnosed with leukemia in 2002, he began building his radio-wave blaster the next year, soon after a relapse. His lifelong fascination with radio provided further inspiration. Radio station antennas, he knew, can turn a bystander's metal eyeglasses toasty warm. If he could seed a person's cancerous cells with nanoscopic metal particles and blast them with radio waves, perhaps he could kill off the cancer while sparing healthy tissue. The saltwater phenomenon happened by accident when an assistant was bombarding a saline-filled test tube ...

Fighting Leukemia With a Capsule

Ntense is a food supplement which combines different qualified medicinal plants. The stock became popular worldwide which led to the creation of a newer, more enhanced, version called N Tense-2. N Tense-2 is said to be an alternative cure for different types of cancer, together with leukemia.

Components of Ntense-2 proven to cure leukemia consist of Bitter melon, Espinheira Santa, Mullaca, Vassourinha and Cat's Claws.

What Is Leukemia

Bitter melon is a fruit-bearing vine. As its name suggests, bitter melon fruits are very bitter and are warty in appearance. Natives used the plant to cure measles and diabetes. Furthermore, it can be used to treat leprosy, eczema, sores and larger wounds. Taking in bitter melon also aids in eliminating parasites inside the body. Studies showed that all parts of the plant posses hypoglycemic properties which function to lower blood sugar useful for diabetics. Fruit extracts of bitter melon also aids in stabilizing insulin secretion and combined with the seeds, the fruit can eliminate excess fats in the body. Bitter melon has been carefully clinically as a cure to diabetes mellitus only until supplementary studies have revealed its possibility to cure leukemia, melanoma and liver cancer.

Espinheira Santa is a small tree that grows to five meters. It has green leaves and bears berries. Espinheira Santa fruits are oblong-shaped and consist of one or two black seeds. The plant is often used to ease arthritis pain and citation of its leaves is taken in to cure stomach disorders such as ulcer and gastritis. Aside from leukemia, it can also inhibit tumor growths for adenocarcinoma, lymphoma and melanoma.

On the other hand, Mullaca is a shrub ordinarily used for treating hepatitis B and bacterial infections. It also aids in strengthening the immune system. Dismissal of the whole plant can be used to cure leukemia. Components of the plant kills the cancer cells directly while at the same time improving the function of the immune system; thus, holding the body active and healthy.

One of the most efficient anti-cancerous plant ingredients of Ntense-2 is Vassourinha. Vassourinha is an herb that grows only to half a meter high. It is ordinarily found in tropical countries and produces tiny, white flowers. Sadly, many citizen think it as a weed.

Chemical tests conducted on vassourinha revealed that the plant contains many phytochemicals, some of which are only found in the plant. Vassourinha phytochemicals consist of scopadulcic acid and betulini acid exhibit antricancerous properties.

Scopadulcic acid can eliminate different kinds of cancer tumors while betulinic has shown anti-cancerous and antiviral potentials. The cytotoxic asset of betulinic acid has been observed in melanomas and leukemia. Its healing succeed on Hiv is also currently being studied.

The cat's claw herb is a base ingredient in original medicine. It is often used to treat inflammations and is said to be efficient in correcting bone irregularities such as osteoporosis. In the field of women's health, cat's claws have been studied as potential medicine for breast cancer. Researches also showed that cat's claw inhibited the mutation of some leukemia cells and killed the other damaged cells upon onset of application.

Ntense-2 as a medicine for leukemia and other types of cancer is still under supplementary study. However, finding these plants and their healing properties, one cannot in fact interrogate the high interrogate for Ntense and the addition shop for Ntense-2.

chronic Leukemia - A Less perilous Cancer, But Harder To Treat

Leukemia is a dangerous form of cancer, and it affects thousands of habitancy every year. It affects the white blood cells. The body loses operate of the quantity and potential of blood cells, and it becomes very vulnerable because the white blood cells are supposed to safe our organism against infections. There are two main types of leukemia - acute leukemia and continuing leukemia. Acute leukemia is more dangerous because it spreads much faster, but continuing leukemia can be tricky because it has almost no symptoms.

The first organ that is affected by continuing leukemia is the bone marrow. The bone marrow is a tissue that can be found on some of the main bones in the body and that has the role of producing blood cells (red blood cells and white blood cells).
White blood cells are the guardians of the body. They can be found in any place in the blood and they charge and neutralize any type of bacteria that enters the body and that can be harmful.

What Is Leukemia

When a outpatient has continuing leukemia, the white blood cells from his blood are deffective and they are continuously created. A general person should have less then 10000 white blood cells white a person with leukemia can have more than 100000, but although there are so many the safety against infections is decreased because most of the cells are malfunctioning.
A particularity of continuing leukemia is that patients who have it also have a lower whole of red blood cells.

The causes of all types of leukemia are unknown, doctors cannot settle why some habitancy have this illness and other don't. Though, scientists discovered some factors that increase the risks of becoming ill of leukemia. Among these factors radiations play an prominent role, many that were exposed to radiations were soon diagnosed with leukemia. Also, a malfunction in the genes can cause the blood cells to transform, so it can have a genetic cause. The causes and risk factors are still being researched.

The bad thing about continuing leukemia is that it normally shows no symptoms that can give he outpatient an idea about his condition. It's often discovered while disposition lab tests. Some of those suffering from continuing leukemia reported having a general state of frailness and fatigue. As the disease advances blood can start to come out of the nose or of the gums for no reason, and because the organism is weakened and its defense is lowered, leukemia patients can be vruised very easy, and they are often infected with foreign microorganism.

Chronic leukemia treatment depends on each patient. After the diagnose a series of tests are made to settle which therapy the outpatient responds to. Chemotherapy is used in most situations. The whole of habitancy that are cured of continuing leukemia is addition as time passes, but a there is a preponderant whole of victims too.

New drugs and cures keep being researched by doctors and scientists and the survival rate is rising, so maybe in the near future continuing leukemia will be musc easier to treat.

What do you think? -------------------------------- Looking down at the tombstone Ophelia didn't know how she got in her position. Crying, she collapse on to the fresh over turned ground. At that instance she didn't care if her clothes were getting stained with dirt. The only thing she cared about laid 6 feet under her in a coffin. Running her fingers over the engraved tombstone she let them linger, as she cried harder with a voice in her head that kept reminding her that he was forever gone. Taking a deep breath she stood up making her way to the car. God only knows how hard she tried to stop crying but it seem like the tears where never ending always starting again. Taking a couple moments to herself in the car before she entered to her house, she wondered how she gotten herself home without crashing into another car. She asked herself the same questions she asked every morning and night: how was she supposed to make it through high school without him? How was she supposed to live with a hole in heart that only he filled? Letting a few tears fall she thought back to the promise he made to her....the promise he know broke. After she cried again in the car she entered her home with red swollen eyes. Without even muttering a word to her parents she ran up the stairs to she reached her room. Throwing her body onto her bed she closed her eyes and reminisces the moments had she spend with him. "How could you not believe in love?" asked Ophelia as she blankly stared at Keagen ...

How Cell Phone Radiation Works?

How Cell Phone Radiation Works? Video Clips. Duration : 0.67 Mins.

www.emfnews.org Potential Health Risks www.emfnews.org In the late 1970s, concerns were raised that magnetic fields from power lines were causing leukemia in children. Subsequent epidemiological studies found no connection between cancer and power lines. A more recent health scare related to everyday technology is the potential for radiation damage caused by cell phones. Studies on the issue continue to contradict one another. All cell phones emit some amount of electromagnetic radiation. Given the close proximity of the phone to the head, it is possible for the radiation to cause some sort of harm to the 118 million cell-phone users in the United States. What is being debated in the scientific and political arenas is just how much radiation is considered unsafe, and if there are any potential long-term effects of cell-phone radiation exposure. There are two types of electromagnetic radiation: * Ionizing radiation - This type of radiation contains enough electromagnetic energy to strip atoms and molecules from the tissue and alter chemical reactions in the body. Gamma rays and X-rays are two forms of ionizing radiation. We know they cause damage, which is why we wear a lead vest when X-rays are taken of our bodies. * Non-ionizing radiation - Non-ionizing radiation is typically safe. It causes some heating effect, but usually not enough to cause any type of long-term damage to tissue. Radio-frequency energy, visible light and microwave radiation are considered non-ionizing ...

Researchers May Have Found the Leukemia Cause

A new study may shed light into why leukemia, one of the deadliest cancers, develops in the first place.

Although leukemia is one of the best studied cancers, the cause of some types is still poorly understood, but experts in the Us say a new formula may make it potential for healthcare experts to peruse why the disease forms.

What Is Leukemia

Specialists at the Abramson Cancer town of the University of Pennsylvania said that a newly-found mutation in acute myeloid leukemia patients could inventory for half of the remaining cases of adult acute leukemia which have no known origin.

Senior author Dr Craig Thompson, director of the facility, said the molecular biology of leukemia has been studied for the last 20 years and experts understanding they had found most of the coarse genes for it.

"Now we're able to point to a positive type of mutation for half of the remaining leukemia's for which we didn't know the cause and between one-quarter and one-third of leukemia's in older patients.

Every year more than 7,000 citizen are diagnosed with leukemia in the Uk, or around 19 citizen every day, manufacture it the tenth most coarse cancer, with more than 4,200 new cases diagnosed in 2006 alone.

The new findings, published this week in Cancer Cell, propose that acute myeloid leukemia (Aml) patients have increased levels of a molecule called 2Hg.

Aml is a quick-moving, deadly cancer that starts in the bone marrow and soon moves into the blood, and the specialists found that increased amounts of 2Hg stem from a mutation in one of two connected metabolic enzymes, Idh1 or Idh2.

Dr Thompson commented: "If we're able to block tumours from producing 2Hg, maybe we would be able to stop the patient's leukemia."

Bells of Sadako and her 1000 paper cranes

Bells of Sadako and her 1000 paper cranes Tube. Duration : 5.25 Mins.

Sadako Sasaki was born on January 7, 1943, and her short life was over on October 25, 1955. When she was only two years old, the atomic bomb was dropped by the United States on Japan. Sadako lived near Misasa Bridge in Hiroshima where the bomb was dropped on August 6, 1945. She was unfortunately a victim of the bomb, but at the age of two, this was not known. Sadako was a bright, happy girl. She had lots of energy and her parents always had to tell her to sit still. Sadako Sasaki loved to run. She was very excited about being a part of the relay team at her school. This is why she did not tell anyone that she was suffering from dizzy spells when she was running. One time, however, she collapsed in front of teachers and her parents were called. She was hospitalized on February 21, 1955, where her family learned that she had leukemia as a result of the atomic bomb. It was predicted that she would live for no longer than one year. On August 3, 1955, Sadako's best friend, Chizuko Hamamota visited Sadako in the hospital and cut a golden piece of paper, creating a paper crane. Chizuko told her the story of the paper cranes and the Japanese belief that if you could fold 1000 cranes, you could have a wish granted. Sadako then began trying to fold 1000 cranes in order to get her wish to live. Unfortunately, she only made it to 644 before she died. Following her death, Sadako's friends finished the remainder of the 1000 cranes and buried them with her. While she was in the hospital ...

Donating Bone Marrow

Stem cells are made in the bone marrow and mature into red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. When they go rogue and produce defective or cancerous cells, one way to stop them is to "reboot" the bone marrow with a transplant of salutary cells.

You can see why the terms "bone marrow transplant" and "stem cell transplant" are used interchangeably. While there is no contrast in the transplant policy itself, there is a contrast in how the cells are harvested. In the past, liquid marrow containing stem cells was collected using a needle inserted into the donor's pelvis. In the majority of cases today, they can be harvested from the blood in a non-surgical policy done in an patient clinic.

What Is Leukemia

The Match Game

The key to a prosperous transplant is the match between a donor's cells and the patient's, which is typed using human leukocyte antigens (Hla). Hlas are proteins on the surface of white blood cells and other tissues. If there's an Hla match, donor cells are less likely to provoke an attack by the patient's immune system.

The best matches come from siblings or other family members, but habitancy who don't have a convenient relative must find a donor in one of the bone marrow registries. If I needed a transplant and couldn't find a match within my family I would join the 7,500 Americans who are actively searching the national registry for a donor at any given time.

I would have about a 75% opening of seeing a match since I'm Caucasian. If I were Hispanic the odds would drop to about 45%, Asian to 40%, African American to 25%. If I were of mixed race they would plummet even lower.

And if I discovered a match in the registry, there's a 35% opening that person could not be settled or would convert their mind about donating; 66% for African Americans.

These sobering numbers are part of the conjecture why about 1,000 habitancy die every year while searching for a convenient donor.

Be The Match

Donors must be 18-60 years old and in good health. They can't be pregnant or have a healing condition such as cancer, severe arthritis or asthma, heart or autoimmune disease, or an Std. (If you recently got a tattoo, you may have to wait a year to donate.)

You can get more info on the nuts and bolts of donating from the Be The Match Registry center near you. They'll have you perfect a short condition questionnaire and sign a consent form. Then they'll take a swab of cheek cells or a blood sample for Hla typing and your data will be added to a confidential donor database.

If (or when) your Hla type matches person needing a transplant, you'll be called for additional testing. If the match is confirmed, you'll be asked to donate whether peripheral blood stem cells or bone marrow depending on what's best for the patient.

This is a volunteer process and you can withdraw at any time. Or, you might get the opening to save a life, which is a amazing thing and will look great on your permanent record!

Anemia - First Treat it With a Balanced Diet

Anemia is an iron scantness in the blood resulting in the poor delivery of oxygen throughout the blood stream.

Symptoms of Anemia:
Pale skin color or tone Pale or clear finding eyelids Feeling of permanently being tired or weak Lack of energy mystery in focusing or concentrating

What Is Leukemia

Many habitancy make the wrong decision reasoning that Anemia is not a serious condition. On the contrary, Anemia can lead to a whole of serious conditions such as heart problems and a mystery in functioning at you optimal ability.

There are some things that cause Anemia. The most base factor is due to a lack of iron intake in ones day to day diet. Ensure that you take in an productive whole of foods such as red meat, spinach, liver and molasses. Vegetarians need to be especially cautious and make sure that they take enough Vitamin C which promotes the absorption of iron.

Another ways to become Anemic is through the immoderate and continual loss of blood. Confident habitancy are more prone to becoming Anemic than others. For example, pregnant women, who need to take twice as much the whole of iron as a general person. Vegetarians are also more prone as they do not eat red meats. Additionally, habitancy who drink large amounts of tea are more prone since tea is known to prevent iron absorption in the body.

What is "Leukemia"?

What is Leukemia?

The word Leukemia is derived from the Greek words leukos (white) and aima (blood). In uncomplicated terms, it is a cancer of the blood or bone marrow. It affects the forming of blood cells, one of the most prominent cells groups of the human body.

What Is Leukemia

An abnormal yield and accumulation of white blood cells characterizes this disease. This form of cancer starts to grow from the stem cells present in the bone marrow. Bone marrow is where blood cells are made.

The nearnessy of abnormal cells called as leukemia cells?, also called as damaged leukocytes confirms the disease. Abnormal cells often over crowd with the other cells and end up with damaged Dna. The entire process makes it difficult for the other cells to do their functions smoothly.

In a healthy human, the W.B.C will die after a obvious period resulting in the increase of fresh. In this case, they do not die undoubtedly and take-up space and continue to add-up. This crowding of bad cells, approximately like a fission reaction in an uncontrolled manner, does not allow the general functioning of the good cells and this effect in sickness.

To best understand this disease, it is prominent that we know the linked biological terms:

Bone Marrow:
The inner part of the bone is the bone marrow and this is where R.B.C, platelets and W.B.C are created

White blood cells (W.B.C):
They are also called leukocytes, and they primarily help fight infections. They are of three types:
• Lymphocytes - Main cells that help in fighting infections
• Granulocytes - These are W.B.C with granules which destroy microbes
• Monocytes - These are linked to granulocytes and also help the body fight against microbes

Red blood cells (R.B.C):
They are the ones that carry oxygen to all the tissues of the body.

Platelets:
They are very prominent in forming clots which prevents the blood vessels from bleeding.
